Pulled me in!
Vivid imagery, and it pulled me in right from the start. Well done to the author.

Praise for Opium
Very addictive!
The author plunges you straight into the action from chapter one. Just like the book’s namesake Opium, the story telling is also very addictive. I look forward to following Felan on his adventure and reading more from this new author.

Compulsive reading!
By the end of chapter one I was gripped by the characters and hooked by the storyline - it got to the point where everything else had to wait! The detailed descriptions of events, but most of all the extraordinary depth of insight into the suffering and feelings of the main characters made it compulsive reading. I cannot praise Opium enough, and I can't wait to read your next book!

The story keeps moving!
I didn’t want to put it down for a second and I am so impressed by the way the author described Felan’s thoughts and feelings, it was very easy to empathise with him. The story keeps moving, I never needed to skip read any boring bits that dragged – there weren’t any!

Praise for Convalescence
I highly recommend!
Convalescence is a compelling and heart-wrenching read I couldn't put down. It takes us on a gritty, raw journey through Felan's crushing struggles and quiet resilience - a powerful testament to the strength found in one's hardest moments. With Maisie's uplifting and soul-stirring writing yet again, I highly recommend!

I look forward to reading the rest of Felan's adventure
After finishing Maisie’s first book, Opium, I was very much looking forward to finding out what happened to Felan, Blaez and the gang and waited for any news on a second book. After being able to read Convalescence early, I am pleased to report that it picks up from the point Opium left off. From the first few lines you are gripped and just want to keep reading. Maisie has the amazing ability to make the characters feel so alive that you actually end up worrying what is happening to them. I look forward to reading the rest of Felan’s adventure and am sure you all will as well.
